Implementing sustainability in VET in a Danish/German comparative perspective (SustainableVET)

Background

The project aims to map the challenges and needs posed by the green transition and sustainability agenda in the vocational education sector. This will be done through a comparative study of how sustainability is integrated into vocational education and training in Denmark and Germany. The goal is to create a more sustainable vocational education system that can meet future demands on both sides of the Fehmarn Belt.

Initiatives

The project includes six main activities, including project management, a comparative study of sustainability in vocational education and training in Denmark and Germany, sustainability conferences in both Lübeck and Nykøbing, and the development and dissemination of a concept for interregional cooperation on sustainability in the Fehmarn region. Through these activities, the project will ensure broad involvement of relevant stakeholders and create a solid foundation for continued cooperation and development.

Goals

The project aims to develop a comparative study that will provide a better understanding of the sustainability agenda within vocational education and how the ongoing green transition will impact all the project’s primary target groups, including vocational education staff, social partners, and businesses involved in vocational education.
